Available White Oak Grades

Due to the demand for white oak across the industry, and the natural characteristics of the species (sap, pin knots, etc.), we are responding with a new grade for millwork products. We are now offering "natural" grade as an option that allows better yields and therefore better pricing. The "natural" grade is produced from the same material as "standard" grade with approximately 20% savings. Below are some details of the two grades.

White Oak (Standard)
Includes existing stock molding program. Heartwood 1 face with minimal pin knots. Will have natural grain variations but is color-matched when glued. Over 12' long may be scarf jointed.

White Oak (Natural)
Occasional sap and color variation on face okay. Some small sound knots are allowed. Will allow higher & solid width and long lengths.

Distribution white oak lumber will continue to be offered as product of the grade (same as before) with a mix of standard and natural grade.
